Overview of research on shells and membranes at UFG 

Streszczenie:

Professors Frederico Silva and Renata Soares will present research results on shell and membrane structures developed at the Federal University of Goiás (Brazil). The investigations focus on the nonlinear static and dynamic behavior of membranes and thin shells, analyzed using semi-analytical and numerical models. Due to the presence of geometric and physical nonlinearities, the models exhibit a rich stability landscape in both static and dynamic analyses, including snap-through behavior, dynamic jumps, internal resonances, and other nonlinear phenomena. Selected analyses of these structures, developed by the professors and their students, will be presented, aiming to evaluate structural stability under different dynamic excitations, geometric imperfections, and interactions with electric or elastic media.
