On December 12-14, 2022, the Indo-Polish Workshop on Energy Harvesting took place in New Delhi (India) as part of the ehDialog project, organized by the Department of Automation of Lublin University of Technology and the Department of Applied Mechanics of the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi.

Our scientists presented the following papers:

  • Grzegorz Litak - "Energy recovery from vibrations: modeling and simulations";
  • Piotr Wolszczak - "Non-linear effects in energy recovery";
  • Eng. Michał Gęca - "Photovoltaic systems in mobile facilities".

Additionally, Prof. Agnieszka Ozga from AGH UST presented her paper entitled "Examples of stochastic systems", and Beata Kijak-Mitura, MA from the Office for Scientific Research and International Cooperation of LUT, presented an extensive material on the strengths of the internationalization of science at our university.

The Polish delegation got acquainted with the activities of wind tunnel laboratories, the latest research methods, exchanged experiences regarding the methodology and main problems associated with using an industrial wind tunnel and low-turbulence wind tunnels, a micromanometer, an FFT analyzer and the Scanivalve pressure measurement system. Prof. Amitabh Bhattacharya and Prof. Grzegorz Litak discussed many aspects of fluid mechanics, fluid-structure interactions, as well as multiphase flows and turbulence. Our delegation got acquainted also with the most modern research and measurement equipment, and conducted talks concerning scientific exchange, a series of trainings, as well as the conditions and scope of formalizing scientific cooperation in the form of an international bilateral agreement.

On December 15-17, 2022, the International Conference on Vibration Engineering and Technology of Machinery (Vetomac2022) was held in Kathmandu (Nepal). The organizer of the Nepalese conference was the Institute of Engineering, Pulchowk Campus, Nepal.

One of the main speakers of the conference was Prof. Grzegorz Litak – the head of the Department of Automation of our university. The thematic scope of the Vetomac2022 conference perfectly matched the scientific fields of the employees of the Department of Automation as well as the Department of Thermodynamics, Fluid Mechanics and Aviation Propulsion Systems of Lublin University of Technology.

The conference and the student poster session enabled the exchange of knowledge, experience and research results among scientists from around the world, as well as presentation of solutions that can be used to recover energy on a global scale.

The exchange of experiences and good practices between the conference participants and students will also be used for scientific and didactic purposes, numerous highly rated publications, monographs, as well as many agreements on bilateral cooperation. Currently, the Office for Scientific Research and International Cooperation of LUT is processing about 10 documents concerning international cooperation resulting from the above mentioned visits.
