ROCK – Repository of Open Collections and Knowledge

ROCK (Repository of Open Collections and Knowledge) is the institutional repository of Lublin University of Technology, designed to archive and provide long-term access to publications, research data and materials related to the teaching activities of LUT’s academic community. The repository also contains documents concerning the history of technology and the history of the University.

Open Access Policy

According to the Open Access Policy of the National Science Centre (NSC), all academic works and publicly funded research results should be published online in digital format so that they are freely accessible to all interested users.

The ROCK repository supports these principles by enabling free access to research outputs and by ensuring their long-term preservation and global visibility.

The repository will also be registered in international registries such as:

  • OpenDOAR – Directory of Open Access Repositories
  • re3data – Registry of Research Data Repositories

This ensures compliance with the Open Access requirements of the National Science Centre and enhances the global accessibility of LUT’s research results.

Repository Structure

The ROCK Institutional Repository is organised into two major collections:

Knowledge

A collection containing publications, research results and academic outputs created by the scientific community of Lublin University of Technology.

Thematic Collections

A collection containing materials related to specific topics, including resources documenting the history of technology and the development of the University.

Each of these major collections is divided into smaller collections and sub-collections reflecting the needs of the LUT academic community and enabling intuitive access for external users.

As the list of collections remains open, the repository provides opportunities for continuous development and expansion of LUT’s digital resources.
