About Faculty

Proud of Our History

since 1953

The Faculty of Mechanical Engineering is the oldest faculty of Lublin University of Technology. Its origins trace back to the founding of the Evening School of Engineering in 1953, initially comprised of one faculty: Mechanical Engineering. The early years of the Faculty’s activity were marked by harsh conditions; it lacked its own premises, laboratory facilities and research base.

Our role in the technological and industrial development of Poland is invaluable. We are convinced that educating highly qualified engineers forms the foundation of the country’s future growth and success. Looking back at our 70-year history, we can proudly say that our Faculty has played an important role in the development of the Polish economy.
